96-98 points Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

Moving to the Grenaches, the 2011 Grenache Dark Blossom, which was tasted out of barrel, possesses gorgeous dark berry fruit, licorice, chocolate and exotic floral qualities on the nose. A blend of 75% Grenache, 12.5% Syrah, 11.5% Mourvedre and a splash of Roussanne (aged 22 months mostly in neutral oak), this full-bodied, incredibly textured barrel sample has fantastic mid-palate depth, sweet tannin and a blockbuster finish. Scheduled to be released next April, it should be reasonably approachable on releases, yet have 12-15 years or more of longevity. Drink 2016-2026. (JD) (8/ 2013)
